Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor, and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a diploma in English literature. Mitchell began working as a TV and radio reporter at KYW Radio and TV in Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. In 1976, she was a CBS affiliate WDVM-TV. (then WTOP in Washington DC). Then she joined NBC News Washington two years after that as general reporter. The year 1980 marked the beginning of her coverage of the White House. 1988 became the main congressional reporter. In 1992, she was named Chief White House Correspondent and in 1994 was appointed chief foreign affairs reporter at NBC News. Mitchell has appeared as a guest on TV news show Meet the Press as a panelist and host. She served on an audience for the debates of 1988 between George Bush (then president) as well as Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is the wife of Alan Greenspan a former chairman the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell was awarded the Goldsmith Career Award in 2005 by the John F. Kennedy School of Government to honor her achievements in the field of journalism. In 2004 The Radio-Television News Directors Association gave Mitchell the Leonard Zeidenberg Award in recognition of her contribution to defending First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell began covering in the White House for NBC News from 1981 to 1988, during both Ronald Reagan's presidency. She reported on a variety of notable stories, including arm control, budget tax reform as well as the Iran-contra scandal. She also traveled extensively along with President Reagan to summits together with Mikhail Gorbachev and other world leaders.
